Tablelands Pinot Gris 2013

Tablelands Wine Company is a joint project by New York based Kiwi Simon Buck and Magnus Riddiford. Well acquainted with the local market, Simon knows exactly what we like in our wines. The two partners then set out to make a wines with certain stylistic benchmarks in mind: aromatic intensity, fruit concentration, vibrancy, balanced acidity, and length of flavor. We’ve carried Tablelands’ Sauvignon Blanc for many vintages, and now we would like to introduce you to this excellent Pinot Gris. Made with single vineyard fruit grown in the Marlborough region of Awatere Valley, this wine expresses New World Pinot Gris in a beautiful way.

Flavor Profile: “Tablelands Pinot Gris shows aromas and flavors of ripe Anjou pears and spice notes. The wine is weighty yet smooth and easy to drink with balanced acidity. For those new to New Zealand Pinot Gris there is richness of flavor associated with the Alsace and balanced with a freshness and zing that one might see from Northern Italy.” Producer Notes.
